The ground where the 2004 - 2005 fieldwork took place is leased from the Ministry of Defense by the Keoldale Sheep Stock Club, and we would like to thank Jack Watson, Chairman, and Martin MacKay, Secretary, for permission to excavate. Scottish Natural Heritage also granted access and monitored the work.
We also thank the Durness community, who have welcomed and supported the project in many ways; in particular: Graham Bruce, Colin Coventry, Sheila Frazer, Lotte Glob, Ronnie Lansley, Fiona and Robbie Mackay, Jock Sutherland, Hugh Powell, Nick Powell, and the students of Durness Primary School.
In the Strathnaver area, we would like to thank Jim Johnston and Eliot Rudie, Marlyn Price and the students of Farr Secondary School for their interest and support.
